World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims

Every year, on the third Sunday of November, the world comes together for World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims. This day is dedicated to remembering the millions of lives lost and forever altered by road traffic accidents, and to raising awareness of the urgent need for safer roads worldwide.

Road traffic accidents are a global crisis, with more than 1.35 million fatalities reported annually, and millions more suffering life-changing injuries. The devastating toll of these accidents extends far beyond the victims themselves, deeply affecting families, friends, and entire communities. It is a tragedy that knows no borders, impacting people from all walks of life and from every part of the globe.

On this day, people across the world gather to honour the memories of those lost, to reflect on the causes and consequences of road traffic deaths, and to call for action to prevent future fatalities. Let this day serve as a reminder that each one of us has a role to play in making our roads safer for everyone.
